Position Title: Field Operator
Reports to: Field Supervisor
Location: Keenesburg, CO
Department: Operations
Hourly Rate Range (depending on experience): $28-$34/hour.

Essential job functions and responsibilities include the following:

Perform pipeline operations and maintenance activities on pipeline systems including compressor stations, dehydration/stabilizer facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment which may include but is not limited to:

  • Assist pigging operations as needed along with proper documentation and procedures.
  • Estimate and/ or calculate flow rates and total volumes.
  • Learn to fill out applicable work/hot work permits, lockout/tagout documentation, attend and participate in tailgate sessions with others involved in work site activities.
  • Manage inventory at assigned sites regarding: Glycol, Methanol, NGL’s, Produced Water
  • Monitor pipeline conditions and recognizes flow restrictions in gas systems and take appropriate actions.
  • Obtain data from electronic flow measurement (EFM) devices.
  • Participates in preparation of field operating procedures and the training of co-workers in a safe and efficient operation practices.
  • Perform minor repairs and assist with major repairs on compression and related equipment.
  • Perform pipeline locates and monitor work of contractors and pipeline companies working around company pipelines and right-of-ways.
  • Perform routine and emergency startup/shutdown of all field equipment.
  • Perform routine shutdowns and startup of equipment and perform emergency procedures when required.
  • Responsible for pipeline maintenance and monitoring including protection, corrosion monitoring, pipeline pigging, pressure maintenance, loss gas, line repairs, etc.
  • Responsible for starting and stopping of all station equipment, dehydration operations and maintenance, and maximize field compression efficiently.
  • Technician will also be required to perform certain PSM functions and activities.
  • Testing for O2 and H2S levels in gas streams
  • This person must have a basic understanding of PLC’s and their functions, flow, and temperatures and BTEX units.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company.
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors.
  • Execute all maintenance activities related to plant maintenance and operation.
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision.
  • Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, hearing protection, footwear, FR clothing).
  • Regular and Reliable Attendance

Subject to applicable laws and Cureton Midstream’s policies, regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position. All employees must follow Cureton Midstream’s employment practices and policies. For the field, it is an essential requirement to reside within a 45-minute radius of the work site. The field operations are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The field employee will be assigned a work schedule to accommodate the operations and the needs of the business, including on-call shifts and a rotating schedule.

Field Compression Maintenance Technician

Cureton Midstream is currently seeking a Field Compression Maintenance Technician to support our field operation. There are two openings, one will be in the Keenesburg, CO Area and the other will be in the Platteville/Gilcrest, CO Area.

Essential job functions and responsibilities include the following:

As a Field Compression Maintenance Technician, the main responsibility to repair and install instrumentation and electrical equipment which may include but is not limited to:

  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times while providing outstanding service that aligns with Cureton Midstream visions and values.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork daily.
  • Independently diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently.
  • All duties and responsibilities could include travel at short notice including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Provide input to Supervisor on personnel and materials needs to provide optimal job planning.
  • Ability to complete, accurate, and timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the field in adverse conditions with limited to no supervision.
  • Responsible for accurate troubleshooting of electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels such as Murphy, and Altronic.
  • Responsible for accurately competing basic engine tuning functions to adjust engine performance and emissions on multiple major OEM’s (CAT/Waukesha)
  • Possess knowledge and ability to respond and repair recurring problems and emergency services as needed independently.
  • Ability to independently assist installation of new units including commissioning and start-up inspections with little to no supervision accurately.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other specialty tools independently.
  • Must be able to be on a call-out rotation and effectively make emergency repairs.
  • Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location. • Other Duties assigned by supervisor.

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some vocational/technical related experience preferred
  • Must have 5-10 years applicable experience
  • Must have proof of certification from CAT/ Waukesha (or equivalent) to:
    • CAT Gas I
    • CAT Gas II
    • CAT Electrical
    • Ariel Basic
    • Ariel Mechanical
    • CAT 3500 ADEM III
    • CAT 3500ULB
    • Waukesha VHP
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions.
